Implementation Of Communication Strategy Within An Organization

Question: Discuss about the Implementation Of Communication Strategy Within An Organization. Answer: Introduction The proposed research is based on the digital resource that should be applied to develop a healthy workplace and motivate employees through innovative communication tools. Communication is a significant aspect that has direct impact on the workplace. This means if a proper communication is not developed in the workplace, the employees might lack motivation and organizational productivity might be affected. Moreover, appropriate communication tools help to identify the issues usually appear in the workplace. The purpose of the research is to develop and implement a digital resource strategy such as Social Media networking that helps the organization to build an effective and healthy work environment. The present research report starts with discussing the issues that a workplace of an organization observes due to the lack of communication. Based on the background to the research, objectives and proposed research questions have been developed in the following. Background to the research As put forward by Costello et al. (2011), the workplace communication remains vital to an organizations strength to be productive and to run the operation smoothly. A study conducted by Leblebici (2012), showed that effective lateral as well as work group communication could lead to the progress in overall organization performance. On the other side, a study performed by Miller and Barbour (2014) indicated that employees who were rated as top in production had received the most effective communication from their senior colleagues. Furthermore, it is also observed that employees feel empowered, if they are able to develop a communication with the higher officials with the help of proper advancement in the technologies. Another significant concept is that individuals in a workplace often want to feel secure that they are receiving relevant as well as updated information from their seniors or the superiors (Hynes 2012). In addition to this, due to the poor communication or lack of commu nication in the workplace, the employees might not able to reach their senior executives with their issues. Moreover, if an organizational culture does not support the enhancement of communication, the employee performance could be affected. Therefore, it is necessary to implement effective communication tools such as through social media networks such as through Facebook and Twitter to establish an effective communication within the organization. However, there are several forms of communication that has come into existence with the help of advancement in technologies such as Social Media sites and through Email and it is not certain that each form provides same influential outcome. It is necessary for the firm to select an appropriate communication form as there is proper advancement in the technology that helps to generate positive impact on the entire organization and help the employees in generating positive outcomes. The proposed research will develop an honest communication t hat can be applied to enhance the workplace environment. Problem Statement As put forward by Colleoni (2013) developing the lines of communication could help to enhance productivity by permitting members to work together. However, not all workplaces have the similar work communication-based work culture. Particularly, in the large organizations, the managers and the leaders do not communicate with the general level of employees as there is a communication gap among the employees. Overall, the workplace lacks a communication standard and the result, the employees lack consistency on how as well as when the employees communicate. In addition to this issue, the workplaces have other issues such as background, which causes the barriers between some employees (Berkhof et al. 2011). When the workplace lacks a proper ground, the organizational members could find it difficult to relate to what other colleagues or superiors are telling. Proper communication techniques have to be implemented as this will help in removing the barriers in the communication process betw een the employees and the managers of the different organization. Social media can be properly used by the companies as this is a useful resource tool that can have huge positive impact on the employees and this can help in generating proper productive results as well. Research Aim and Objectives The major aim of the research is to develop a communication strategy, which can be applied to boost and motivate workplace. The proposed research also aims to investigate the types of communication available, to select an appropriate one. To critically analyze the impact of advanced technological communication on workplace and organizational productivity To evaluate the communication strategies that are usually applied to the workplace with the help of proper advancement in technologies To develop effective communication strategy to boost the workplace along with the employees of the organization. Research Questions What is the impact of poor communication on workplace and organizational productivity? What are the effective communication strategies applicable to a workplace? Literature Review This section discusses the different communication strategies mentioned and developed by the scholars in the previous research work. Proper communication is a significant aspect that organizations should adopt to motivate employees, build effective organizational culture, and increase productivity. The literature review includes a critical evaluation of workplace issues and communication strategies as the remedies. The issues of the organization can be properly improved with the help of proper usage of the technologies and this will help in gaining proper competitive advantage as well as communication is an essential part of the organizations. Communication Strategies As put forward by Sanghvi et al. (2013), the communication issues usually result in confused organizational rife with delays and mistakes. The environments embedded with poor communication might become stressful as well as could lead to arguments as well as misunderstanding. As the consequence, the business could suffer, if the organizations do not clearly convey organizational missions and goals to the employees with the help of an effective communication practice. The different communication strategies that are applied in the organization are as follows: Inform to empower As put forward by Lilleker and Koc-Michalska (2013), providing access to business information could lead to distrust among the employees. This statement indicates that it is necessary for the organizational team to share details about the direction of the business as well as communicate the importance of each employee to its success. In this context, Ellison, Steinfield and Lampe (2011) mentioned that the managers should communicate the job requirements as well as tasks so that each individual understands their roles within the organization. A study conducted by Lpez and Sicilia (2013) presented the fact that the organizational members could feel confident as well as motivated when they have adequate information to perform effectively at the workplace and thrive in the organization. Maintenance healthy organizational culture As commented by Costello et al. (2011), only a superficial attention to workplace communication might have a little impact on the productivity. The managers of the organization need to effectively commit to the free flow of information within the organization. Leblebici (2012) mentioned that the organization could do it by setting example for the employees by communicating frankly and openly with each individual. Implementation of technology As put forward by Miller and Barbour (2014), technology builds fast and accessible communication mediums within the organization. Due to the advancement of technology, the social media platforms are rapidly developing and covering the whole world (Berkhof et al. 2011). The social media channels have made it easy for the business to develop communication both in external and internal environment. As commented by Colleoni (2013), in an organizational context, the social media networks help individuals communicate in real-time instead of using emails. For example, the video conference as well as the instant messaging application bridges the gap between the company, suppliers and customers. The technological advancement plays an important role in the organization as this will help in improving the communication strategies between the employees and the managers of the organization. The implementation of technology is essential in nature as this will help in creating proper process of communication among the employees in the entire organization as well (Miller and Barbour 2014). Literature gap The previous studies have discussed the importance of communication in the workplace and how it can be implemented into the workplace. The literature talks about different communication strategies that are related with advancement in technologies such as through social media networks as well as other strategies that could help to maintain a healthy work culture. Nonetheless, the studies did not mention the particular communication tools or action plan strategies that are useful and provide positive outcome. Moreover, the studies have mentioned that implementation of advanced technology helps to build communication in the external environment but it did not mention how it is effective in the internal environment. Methodology Data Collection methods The data collection method usually divided into two different categories such as primary and secondary data collection technique. Secondary Data collection-The secondary data are of those that have already been published in newspapers, journals, magazines and in other reliable forms. When it comes to secondary data, there is an abundance of data available in the secondary sources that can be used in the academic studies. Thus, while selecting the source of the data, reliability and validity have to be ensured. In the proposed study, to conduct a critical analysis in the literature review, 30 journals on workplace communication strategies have been selected. Primary Data collection The primary data collection techniques are usually divided into two different categories namely quantitative and qualitative. As put forward by Miller et al. (2012), the quantitative data collection techniques are developed based on the mathematical calculation in several formats. The methods of quantitative data collection as well as the analysis involve the questionnaire with the close-ended questions. However, on the other side, the qualitative data collections usually do not include the numbers or any mathematical calculations. In the proposed study, the primary data collection will be done by conducting a survey among the employees of the organization Atlassian, Australia. Conclusion In conclusion, it can be mentioned that the proposed research provides desired outcome. The outcome must meet the purpose of the research as appropriate research methods are selected to be used in the study. In the literature review, it is found that the previous studies did not talk about any particular communication strategy that is related to advancement in technology that could be effective for any organization to develop a healthy workplace. Thus, the proposed study will focus on that gap and develop an appropriate solution. References Berkhof, M., van Rijssen, H.J., Schellart, A.J., Anema, J.R. and van der Beek, A.J., 2011.
